Born on a Raft Theatre’s mandate is to produce indie theatre in Montreal using primarily queer voices and telling stories using local actors, directors, writers, technicians and photographers.
We aspire to contribute to the rich cultural fabric of what is commonly known as Quebec, while being keenly aware that this is unceded territory that we are fortunate to walk on. We wish to uplift voices that have historically been overlooked and create a space for local creators to showcase their artistic skills. Montreal features many talented creatives who are seeking further opportunities to showcase their skill and this is the place for them to do so.
We are in our early stages as a production company and wish to credit all the queer artists before us, whose sacrifices make it possible to do the work that we are passionate about.
